By

Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21.

President Karen Castonguay opened the meeting with the members reciting the opening ritual.

Ramona Paine, chaplain, gave the devotional on “Love.”

Hope for Heroes donation jar was passed around with the proceeds going to the veterans benefit program. A donation from the money jar was sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Cathy Holsted, ways and means chairman, reported that March 7-8 will be the baking dates for making cinnamon rolls.

The members are now taking orders which will be due March 4.

The group’s March social will be either March 15 or 16 at El Charro to honor three outstanding youth – Hensley Eaton and Sam Eaton, grandchildren of member Cynthia Eaton; and Xander Bolner, grandson of Debi Trout.

Dana Golbek, nominating chair, announced the officers for 2022-23.

They are: Paige Krause, president; Golbek, vice president; Ramona Paine, secretary; Holsted, treasurer; Terri Peck, educational director; and Castonguay, parliamentarian.

The chapter made memorials for Floris Weber, Dana Terrell’s mother, to Dover Christian Church and a donation to St. Jude Hospital for Lois Kochenower.

Kochenower joined right after the chapter was established in 1975 and was a Life Active member. Her daughter, Michelle, was a charter member of the DESA chapter.

The meeting was closed with the members reciting the closing ritual.

The hostesses served refreshments to Donna McPherson, Holsted, Terrell, Castonguay, Paine, Misty Blundell, Stormy Simmons, Karen Edgar, Madell Henderson, Lavenia Boutwell, Trout, Golbek and Ally Carter and baby daughter, Avery.

There will not be a March meeting due to the social. The next business meeting will be April 18.
