By

Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma met at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church.

Dana Golbek, chapter president, called the meeting to order and the opening ritual was repeated in unison.

Theta Tau will be having baking work days March 7-8 making cinnamon rolls. The members are currently taking orders.

All proceeds will go toward the group’s philanthropic projects and helping the members pay registration to attend the state convention.

The Social Committee will host a St. Jude fundraiser event at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Interbank.

The menu will consist of chicken and sides. The price is $10 per person.

There will be a dessert auction, desserts will be furnished by the members. The fundraiser is open to members, spouses, guests and friends. RSVP to Stormy Simmons by Feb. 15 if attending.

The members were each given two paper sacks they will need to fill with items to participate in an Easter parade at the April 15 meeting.

The first bag will hold a purse and a hat and be brought to the February fundraiser. The second bag due in March will contain clothing attire and accessories.

At that meeting, each member will select a bag and they will wear what is in that bag to the April meeting for a dress parade.

Cathy Holsted, 2024 state convention chairman, reminded members the group will have convention responsibilities in hosting the hospitality room and placing table decorations on tables for the Sunday morning brunch.

Members attending will wear the hostess attire of black jeans, pastel blouse and a scarf with bicycles on it.

The convention fundraiser is for members attending to purchase a spirit mum and then wear it to the award ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

The spirit mums are being made by Kappa Theta, Guthrie.

The state convention will be held at Delta Hotel by Marriott and Reed Center Conference Center on April 26-28 in Midwest City.

Simmons is co-chair. Members dining on brownies and banana bread were Ramona Paine, Cynthia Eaton, Debi Trout, Simmons, Golbek, Allie Carter, Misty Blundell, Holsted, Donna McPherson and guest Beth Schieber, now a new member.
