Theta Tau members meet
Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma met at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church.
President Terri Stake opened the business meeting with members reciting the opening ritual. Ramona Paine, chaplain, handed out the inspirational message entitled “A Recipe for Friendship.”
Our friendship with our members are like recipes of goodness for us. You may have heard “Friends are life’s dessert.” Ingredients for a friendship cupcake recipe were shared with how the ingredients add to friendship.
Cathy Holsted, philanthropic chairman, stated we had made a donation to LifeShare Oklahoma in memory of David Denton.
Our chapter was credited with 100.75 hours for working the Dream Home in the Edmond area during the month of August.
A member donated $50 to St. Jude’s to sponsor Team ESA in the walk held last weekend.
We will once again serve as convention hostess for the State President Darla Barton.
Baking dates were presented: Aunt Bill’s candy making will be Oct. 15-18 and the order deadline is Oct. 10; Amish bread baking is Nov. 21 -22 and that order deadline is Nov. 15.
Please let one of the members know if you are interested in the Aunt Bill’s or Amish bread.
Holsted, convention cochair, hosted the 2024-25 convention meeting on Aug. 25 at her home and Paine, convention secretary, attended.
Theta Tau will host the State Council meeting on March 9, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Members received their new yearbooks with Stake’s theme “Reading Brings the World to Your Doorstop – Join the Adventure with Theta Tau.” Holsted prepared the yearbooks.
Terri Peck, educational director, as a member of Kingfisher Winter Nights, told of the upcoming plans to have a live Christmas tree that is being purchased in Wisconsin and will be delivered to Kingfisher in the near future.
There will be five to eight miles of Christmas lights to be strung and numerous decorations. It will take a crane to lift the tree in place. More details to follow, she said.
Our next meeting will be Oct. 21 and members are to come in costume for a Halloween celebration.
Stormy Simmons and Holsted served finger sandwiches, strawberries, apples, chips, crackers and several samples of different flavor dips to: Paine, Cynthia Eaton, Debi Trout, Donna McPherson, Dana Terrell, Peck, Karen Castonguay Dana Golbek, Stake, Karen Hubbard and guest Sheryl Best.
