Tillman’s contract passed in 3-2 vote
After more than an hour in closed session, the Town of Hennessey Board of Trustees moved in a split vote Thursday to approve the town administrator’s contract.
Trustees voted 3-2 to approve a year-to-year contract at $85,000 per year for Tiffany Tillman.
Acting as the Hennessey Utilities Authority, they voted to approve a five-year contract by the same count. Voting for the motion were Mayor Clif Vogt and trustees Bert Gritz and Randy Bohnstedt.
Voting against were Vice Mayor Harold Shaw and Trustee David Jones.
The reason for the oneyear contract is because town trustees cannot make those financial promises on future boards.
Tillman was rehired to the position in late August.
She had resigned from the position the previous February after 17 years.
Hennessey trustees had meetings in late September and earlier this month and met for several combined hours in executive session, but didn’t vote to approve the contract before Thursday.
