The top teachers for each of the five Kingfisher Public Schools buildings were recently announced. Named the 2023-24 winners were, from left: top row, KARA BRUEGGEN, kindergarten teacher at Gilmour Elementary School; MORGAN SHUMAN, second grade teacher at Heritage Elementary School; and MELODY KUEHN, STEAM/Enrichment at Kingfisher Upper Elementary School. On the bottom row are JILL MYERS, eighth grade math at Kingfisher Junior High; and KEN THOMPSON, English/AP English at Kingfisher High School. Each individual school voted on its teacher of the year. The entire district will now vote for the districtwide teacher of the year, which will be announced next week when teachers return for in-service training prior to students returning for the second semester of classes.
