Traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
August 12, 4:59 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Overstreet Avenue.
Dustin Ellis, 19, Kingfisher, driving a 1997 Ford Ranger, was exiting Sonic Drive-In, 1201 S. Main St.
Bradley Coughlan, 44, Kingfisher, driving a 2020 Dodge 1500, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
The Ellis vehicle proceeded westward across U.S. 81 toward West Overstreet Avenue and failed to yield to the Coughlan vehicle, the report said.
The Coughlan vehicle moved to the outside lane in an attempt to avoid a collision, but struck the Ellis vehicle in the passenger side, according to the report.
Functional damage was reported to both vehicles.
Ellis and his 19-year-old male passenger sustained non-incapacitating arm injuries and were treated at the scene and released by Kingfisher EMS. Coughlan sustained no injuries, according to the report.
Ellis was issued a citation for failure to pay taxes due to state and no seatbelt and his passenger also received a citation for no seatbelt, the report said.

August 19, 12:10 a.m. - At South Frontage Road and Mitchell Boulevard.
Arnoldo Guajardo, 28, San Juan, Texas, driving a 2017 Freightliner, was parked in a parking space at Valero, 100 Mitchell Drive.
Jose Pena Maria, 38, San Juan, Texas, driving a 2014 Peterbilt, was parked in a parking space parallel to the Guajardo vehicle.
The Guajardo vehicle attempted to leave the parking space and struck the Pena Maria vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to the Pena Maria vehicle and no damage to the Guajardo vehicle. No injuries were reported.

August 22, 12 a.m. - At East Bowman Avenue and U.S. 81.
Keneth Machen, 56, Cooper, Texas, driving a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was northbound on U.S. 81 near the Bowman Avenue intersection.
Sydney Waters, 20, Okarche, driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger, was westbound on East Bowman Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto southbound U.S. 81.
Waters failed to yield and was struck by the Machen vehicle in the rear driver’s side, the report said.
Machen and a 54-yearold female passenger were both thrown from the motorcycle on impact, according to the report.
Machen sustained possible head, trunk and arm injuries and was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. The passenger on the Machen motorcycle sustained possible trunk injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Minor damage was reported to the Waters vehicle and functional damage to the Machen vehicle.

August 23, 1:30 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Admire Avenue.
Beauford Owens, 69, Kingfisher, driving a 2013 Hyundai, was parked in the 100 block of East Admire.
Mary Lou Gaither, 80, Kingfisher, driving a 2014 Buick Enclave, was westbound on East Admire.
According to the report, the Owens vehicle attempted to back out of the parking space and struck the Gaither vehicle in the passenger side doors.
Minor damage was reported to the Owens vehicle and functional damage to the Gaither vehicle. No injuries were reported.

August 26, 12 p.m. - At 1500 S. 13th St. A 16-yearold female, Kingfisher, driving a 1996 Toyota Forerunner, was eastbound and stopped at the exit of the Kingfisher High School parking lot.
A 16-year-old female, Kingfisher, driving a 2005 Jeep, was also eastbound and struck the Toyota Forerunner in the rear.
According to the report, the driver of the Jeep left the scene, but returned a short time later.
Minor damage was reported to the Toyota Forerunner and unknown damage to the Jeep. No injuries were reported.

September 14, 1:15 p.m. - At 101 S. Main St. Bryan Kennedy, 51, Hennessey, driving a 2015 Ford F250, was parked in a parking space.
Daniel Bettes, 35, Oklahoma City, driving a 2016 International, backed into a parking space adjacent to the Kennedy vehicle.
According to the report, Bettes attempted to exit the parking space and struck the driver’s side of the Kennedy vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to the Bettes vehicle and functional damage to the Kennedy vehicle. No injuries were reported.
