Traffic accidents investigated

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

October 2, 10 a.m. - At 1305 S. Main St. Savannah Freeman, 24, Elmore City, driving a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, was parked in a parking space at Dollar General, 1305 S. Main St. Gladys Hopkins, 88, Kingfisher, driving a 2013 Chevrolet CEO, was also parked in parking space at Dollar General. According to the report, the Hopkins vehicle backed out of the parking space, struck the the Freeman vehicle in the driver’s side and left the scene. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Sergeant Charles Trout investigated the accident.

October 3, 11 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Harvey Avenue. Bryan Randle, 55, Hennessey, driving a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81 and stopped for traffic while attempting to make a left turn onto Harvey Avenue. Joseph Carmichael, 37, Kingfisher, driving a 1992 Chevrolet GC1, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81 directly behind the Randle vehicle. According to the report, the Carmichael vehicle failed to yield and struck the Randle vehicle in the rear. Disabling damage was reported to the Carmichael vehicle and minor damage to the Randle vehicle. No injuries were reported. Sergeant Charles Trout investigated the accident.

October 3, 5:20 p.m. - At 201 S. Main St. Francine Wilson, 64, Geary, driving a 2014 Dodge Journey, was stopped in the Love’s Country Store parking lot, waiting to merge onto U.S. 81. Michael Wilczek, 67, Kingfisher, driving a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, attempted to back out of a parking space and struck the Wilson vehicle, the report said. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.

October 5, 7:36 p.m. - At Walton Trail and South 19th Street. Cynthia Camarena, 29, Enid, driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue, was parked along the northbound curb of South 19th Street. A 16-year-old female, Kingfisher, driving a 2014 GMC YLT, was eastbound on Walton Trail and at- tempted to turn left onto South 19th Street. According to the report, the 16-year-old’s vehicle struck the Camarena vehicle and left the scene. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel investigated the accident.

October 8, 12:15 p.m. At South 13th Street and Chisholm Drive. Frank Morley, 60, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, was southbound in the outside lane of South 13th Street. A 17-year-old female, Kingfisher, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, was eastbound in Kingfisher High School parking lot. According to the report, the 17-year-old female attempted to turn left onto South 13th Street, failed to yield and was struck by the Morley vehicle. Functional damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Captain Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident.

October 12, 1:21 p.m. At Fourth Street and Sykes Avenue. Brileigh Quick, 23, Kingfisher, driving a 2005 Chevrolet SC1, was backing down Sykes Street and struck a guardrail, the report said. Minor damage was reported to the Quick vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.
