Tricking, treating, much more in store

As is always the case, there will be ample opportunity for trick-or-treating on Halloween this Thursday.

And - as is always the case - there are alternative opportunities as well.

There are plenty of events to choose from, beginning this Sunday and running all the way through Thursday night. Here’s some of what is available this week in Kingfisher:

Sunday, Oct. 27

Kingfisher County OSU Extension Family Fright Night at Kingfisher County Fairgrounds MACenter Carnival: 2-3 p.m. with games, prizes, pumpkin decorating contest (bring an already decorated pumpkin to be judged) Costume contest: 3-4 p.m. (age divisions from newborn to adult with prizes given for funniest, best, most original and scariest costumes) Admission by donation.

First Christian Church, 102 S. Seventh St., 3-5 p.m. Inflatables and playtime, hotdogs, chips and cookies (served at 5 p.m.) and trunk or treat (at 5:30 p.m.)

Wednesday, Oct. 30

Sts. Peter & Paul Youth Group Food Drive, 6-8 p.m. - Youth will be going door to door throughout Kingfisher to collect non-perishable items for the Kingfisher County Food Bank

Federated Church, 400 W. Fay Ave., Trunk ‘R Treat, 5:30-6:30 p.m. (free food available, too)

Thursday, Oct. 31

Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce/City of Kingfisher - downtown trick or treat, 4-5 p.m. (children will walk the same direction as traffic) Townwide trick or treat, 5-8 p.m. (porch light indicates home is open to visitors) Kingfisher Church of the Nazarene, 414 Hill Drive - Trunk or Treat, 5-6:30 p.m., candy, inflatables, free hot dogs, chips and drinks. Bring a nonperishable food item to do- nate to the Kingfisher County Food Bank and be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card.

First Assembly of God, 900 W. Will Rogers Drive, Fall Fest, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Free family event. Features games, candy, hot dogs, chips and drinks, face painting, moonwalk and prizes.

The Chisholm, 605 Zellers Ave. - Haunt the Hill, 5-8 p.m. (free event) “Ghouls, Goblins and Ghosts of all ages will enjoy our child-friendly haunted mansion walkthroughs and can score some awesome candy.”

Cimarron Nursing Center, 905 Beall Road, trick or treating 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Sonic Drive-In, 1201 S. Main St., Halloween costume contest 5-6 p.m.(age groups newborn - 2 years old, 3-5 years old, 6-10 years old; prizes awarded in age group) free trick or treat bags and 50cent corndogs ( Ed. note: See the Times & Free Press Facebook page for any updates to this list.)
