The Asphalt Shakers were the top team in the fi rst week of Kingfi sher Community Collaborative’s 2022 Walk-tober walking challenge. These three competitors, from left Erin Mayfi eld, Linda Murphey and Nayeli Gutierrez, walked an average of more than 25,000 steps a day each to win the fi rst week’s prizes. In addition to weekly honors, a traveling trophy will be presented to the team with the highest stepping average
for the entire month. The challenge includes solo walkers as well as teams of up to fi ve participants. All told, close to 100 people are competing in this year’s walking challenge, designed to promote healthy living and active lifestyles.
