Walter talks Unity Above Self with Rotary

Brian Walter was the featured speaker of the Kingfisher Rotary Club at last Tuesday’s meeting.

He talked of his friendship with the late senator, Dr. Tom Coburn, who inspired him to begin a grass roots campaign to carry on the mission he championed while in office, which was to stop federal deficit spending and begin the course to eliminate the national deficit.

In his talk, Walter referenced Coburn’s book “Smashing the D.C. Monopoly” and he said Coburn’s message to him was “this change would never happen with Congress.”

Walter said most senators and representatives have a first priority of getting re-elected and staying in office and therefore could not be trusted with the task.

The change must come from “we the people” through a constitutional amendment, Walter said, which would force Congress to “do the right thing.”

Several years ago, Walter committed to start up the grassroots campaign called “Unity Above Self In America.”

He asked that those interested in the financial salvation of the nation go to the website: unityaboveself. com.

Walter said with the national debt soon to be $34 trillion, that the nation is headed toward financial collapse.

He said there is a very dangerous myth that the national debt is not a problem for the individual American and that no one is concerned with the looming disaster.

He said many American citizens are indeed concerned about the national debt and others, like those who have joined his movement, are indeed trying to solve the problem.

The goal of Unity Above Self In America is the ratification of the “No Budget, No Pay” Act as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, with the target completion date of July 4, 2030.

Walter said the mission was to use God’s power to reform our nation’s Congress with common sense to preserve freedom for the next generation through use of the core values of truth, courage, Christian love, righteousness and sacrifice.

Walter said he was currently targeting senators up for re-election across the nation, because those preparing to run for another six-year term are those most likely to listen to the message.

Walter, who runs his own business - Walter Building Center in Kingfi sher, makes time to fly to the offices of senators as his time allows to attempt to convince them of the urgency to co-sponsor the “No Budget, No Pay” Act before the nation “falls off the financial cliff.”

He encouraged anyone interested in the movement to contact him at any time.
