Wine, chocolate and even cooler weather are predicted this Saturday at Hennessey festival

Hennessey United’s board can’t promise cooler weather during its Wine and Chocolate Festival Saturday, but it will be ready to open at 1 p.m. and run until 5 p.m.

The board finalized plans to set up Memorial Park with canopies, tables, chairs and check-in booths during its Thursday night pre-festival meeting.

Advance and Gate Prices Same

Advanceticketsareavailable at Hennessey Town Hall, Vernost Wine Co. and online at Eventbrite.com.

Tickets remain the same price again this year at $20 per person for wine and chocolate and you get a free wine glass, or $5 for chocolate only.

Those costs are the same if bought in advance, or at the gate.

Police will check IDs at the gates and only those with wristbands will be allowed wine.

Tickets will be given to those who only want chocolate.

16 Vendors Signed Up

As of Monday morning, there were eight wine and eight chocolate vendors signed up to participate.

Festival Chairman Wes Hardin said wine vendors will include:

• Vernost Wine Co., Hennessey.

• Turn-er Me On Wines, Hennessey

• Native Spirits Winery, Norman

• Arribin Hills Winery, Owasso

• Put a Cork in It Wine & Gift Shop, OKC Bricktown

• Okie Ozark Winery, Salina

• Whispering Meadows Vineyards, McAlester

• Stubborn Bull Wine, Hennessey ( Note: A list of the chocolate vendors was not available at deadline.)

Some Tables Left

There are a few vendor spaces left, but vendors must have samples of wine or chocolate at their booth to give to those who have wristbands, or chocolate tickets.

There is no charge for a table and the space, but vendors must sign up.

Firefighter Steak Sandwiches

When you see the smoke at the park, it’s only the Hennessey volunteer firefi ghters who are grilling up their steaks for sandwiches from 1-5 p.m. (or as long as they last) for a $10 donation.

Chips and a bottle of water are included.

Streck and Stinnett will perform

Matthew Streck of Hennessey and Avery Stinnett of Stillwater will sing, and Stinnett will also play his guitar during his performance on United’s stage throughout the afternoon.

All-School Reunion

United board members were told there will be an all-school HHS reunion starting at 5 p.m. at The Gathering Place.

Contact Jimmy Berkenbile for more information.
