Winners announced during Hennessey’s Red Carpet Night

Seventeen Hennessey community volunteers, business owners and teachers were recognized Thursday during the 2023 Red Carpet Night in the Ortman Auditorium at the Hennessey Public Library. The annual event is sponsored and conducted by the Hennessey United Association for local organizations to honor their members and other community leaders. Some groups named more than one person. Honorees and those who selected them are, from left: front row, Shelia Duell, Hennessey United; Karen Vogt and Ann Taylor, Friends of the Library; Shelley Burch, Hennessey Lions Club; Billie Melendy, Hennessey Farmerettes; Dale Melendy, Powder & String Club; James Matousek, Hennessey United; middle row, Teachers of the Year Rachel Franks, HES and district; Stephanie Guinn, HHS; Janell Riddle, HMS; and back row, Valerie Wissman and Tony Blackburn, Ministerial Alliance; Dawn Jones (and school therapy dog Marshal on the leash she’s holding), Early Childhood Center; Charlene Choate, Child Study Club; Perry Cline, Hennessey United; Hennessey Auto Supply’s Alyce Bregenzer, and son, Mark Bregenzer. Mrs. Bregenzer’s late husband, Lew Bregenzer, started the family-owned business in 1933 (Ambassador Award, All About Hennessey). United President Stacy Cline was emcee for the evening.
