Tuesday dawned at a frigid 14 degrees, but wicked cold wind chills drove the ambient temperature down even further.

A wind chill advisory continued through Wednesday, when more winter precipitation was expected to begin.

A wintry mix of sleet and snow was predicted through Thursday, but warmer temperatures are expected to return next week.
