Zyzer awarded bid for District 1 county road projects

By

Kingfisher County commissioners approved a bid from Zyzer LLC of Kingfi sher to provide labor and materials for blacktop projects in District 1 Monday at their weekly meeting.

Three projects will primarily be completed under the contract – two miles on 2860 Road, one mile on 2810 road and one-half mile on 750 Road.

Zyzer’s bid called for 15 cents per square yard for oil and $1.28 per square yard for three-quarter inch chips at a rate of 40 pounds per square yard. Double chipping is scheduled on each project.

Zyzer, which provided oil and chip work in all three districts after submitting the low bid a year ago, was the sole bidder for the oil and chip work.

In other action Monday, commissioners approved a contract between the office of county assessor and Tisdal and O’Hara, PLLC, an Oklahoma City law firm, to finish out all outstanding lawsuits for previous years, approved a resolution to dispose of equipment, a Hemocue, for the county health department, and three county road crossings permits for Ovintiv Oil Co. for three 12-inch flat lines in District 3 – all located at a point beginning one mile west of Okarche and extending 4.5 miles north.

County Clerk Jeannie Boevers clarified a report in the preceding week’s county commission meeting regarding approval of a report from the county treasurer’s office showing a county fund balance of $127,316,130.37.

She said the fund balance was for all county department funds – health department, highway funds and fire departments, not just the county general fund.

(Editor’s note: The article in question did not mention the general fund, but did not break the funds down by category. Apologies for any confusion.)

All commissioners were present for the meeting – Jeff Moss, District 1; Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2; and Anthony Schwarz, District 3 – along with Boevers as minute clerk.
