Kingfisher lost a narrow district softball game at home to Bethany just a week into this season.

The Lady Jackets paid back the favor on Tuesday night.

Siera Stitt’s two-out single in the top of the eighth inning scored Addison Willson.

Natalie Dick then shut the door on the Lady Bronchos in the bottom half of the frame as KHS earned the 5-4 extra-inning victory on the road.

The win avenged a 6-5 loss to Bethany on Aug. 15.

It moved the Lady Jackets to 3-7 in District 4A-4. Bethany dropped to 2-4.

Dick got the win with eight full innings pitched despite coming on in relief.

Merrin Evans got the start, but struggled to find the strike zone.

Dick was called on and got KHS out of the early jam with just one Bethany run scored.

Overall, she surrendered just eight hits, two earned runs and struck out two.

KHS had the early 1-0 lead when Willson drove in Dick in the top of the first with an RBI single.

After the home team tied it up, Kingfisher tacked on two more in the second.

Gentry Taylor reached on an error that scored Jancee Matthews, then later stole home for a 3-1 lead.

Bethany tied it up with a run in each the third and fifth innings.

Taylor singled in the top of the seventh and eventually reached third base.

The senior scored on Dick’s RBI groundout.

KHS couldn’t close it out in the bottom of the seventh as a single, a sacrifice and an error led to a Bethany run.

Willson led off the eighth and reached on a Bethany error.

She advanced to second on a passed ball, then sped home with Stitt’s game-winner.

Kingfisher followed that up with a 12-0 win Thursday at Pioneer.

The game lasted just three innings and KHS scored all 12 of its runs in the second.

Eight Lady Jackets combined for nine hits.

Mya Dewberry had two of them and drove in two runs.

Taylor Mills had 4 RBIs in the game. Willson and Dick had two each.

Evans got the win as she allowed just one hit over the three frames.

The victory evened Kingfisher’s overall record to 13-13.
