Chisholm sweeps through Cashion in Enid festival
Cashion’s trip to the Downtown Enid Basketball Festival didn’t prove friendly this year.
Both squads were dealt losses by Chisholm last Friday night at the Central National Bank Center.
The first and third quarters were particularly unkind to the Lady Wildcats in a 41-28 defeat.
Cashion scored just three first quarter points, but still only trailed 16-12 at the half.
That’s when Chisholm started the third quarter on a 13-0 run and didn’t allow Cashion to score for more than seven minutes.
Brook Shelly and Kaitin Taylor scored seven points apiece for Cashion, which fell to 13-7 on the season and had a three-game win streak snapped.
Chisholm’s boys caught fire from the outside in their 62-47 victory.
The Longhorns made 12 3-pointers - seven of them by Kolten Childers.
After falling behind 19-7 to start the game, Cashion never could catch up.
The Wildcats got 26 points from Jacob Woody, but none of his teammates reached double digits.
Childers scored 22 for Chisholm, ranked 12th in 3A, while Noah Hann added 15.
Cashion, ranked 18th in 2A, saw its record drop to 14-6.
