Weekend edition printing early

While subscribers and loyal newsstand buyers will receive the weekend edition of the Times & Free Press at its normal time, it will have been printed early. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the newspaper’s printer has adjusted its schedule this week.

City leaders last week took part in the annual planning retreat...just several months later than usual. The retreat was held last Monday at the Vernie Snow Aquatic Center. It’s traditionally held in the spring, but the onset of COVID-19 and its widespread issues caused a number of delays.

Although Thanksgiving road and air travel is shaping up to be significantly reduced from last year, Oklahoma Department of Transportation has identified potential bottlenecks for road travel through Sunday.

Small Business Saturday this week

The annual shopping event to promote the country’s smaller retailers is this weekend. Business Saturday, annually two days after Thanksgiving, is just a few days away. The event encourages people to shop locally and support “mom and pop” businesses.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: November 11 - Larceny of service station gasoline-pump piracy. Officer Charles Trout took a report of gasoline theft at Double D’s, 701 N. Main St.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: November 6, 1 p.m. - At East Bowman Avenue and South Fifth Street. Genaro Ortega, Kingfisher, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, parked on the south side of East Bowman Avenue near South Fifth Street.
