Kingfisher County OHCE holds Spring Council

Kingfisher County OHCE members met for their annual Spring Council meeting on March 5 at Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher. Good Timers OHCE served as the host group. Doris Brehm, County OHCE president, presided over the business meeting.

KHS names February 2019 top students

Kingfisher High School recently announced its Students of the Month for February 2019. Selected by the teachers were freshman Jayden Burleson, sophomore Tyler Roman, junior Harrison Themer and senior Bree Taylor. Burleson is the daughter of Charles and Rhiannon Snyder.

Hellwege-Buck

• Engagement ErnieandKarenHellwege announce the engagement of their daughter, Kamara Lyn Hellwege, to Dalton Ray Buck, son of Darla and Dave Krittenbrink and Kelly and Angela Buck. Kamara is a 2011 graduate of Kingfisher High School.

Two blood drives planned in Kingfisher County this week

Oklahoma Blood Institute is planning two Bigfoot-themed blood drives in Kingfisher County this week. The first is Sunday, March 17, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church’s Parish Hall. It will be from 8 to noon. The second is Thursday, March 21, at the Event Center in Hennessey, located at 600 N.

Lomega group claims academic crown

Lomega seventh and eighth grade students were recently named state champions in the middle level Division I for social studies in the Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition Online Tournament for 2018-19.

Lions Club program is STACKed

Scott Osborn, left, was the guest speaker of the Kingfisher Lions Club recently. Osborn, who manages The Stack Grill in downtown Kingfisher, spoke of the trials that come with operating a restaurant in Kingfisher due to the increase in oilfield activity in the county.
