Yellowjacket golfers finish 11th at state

Kingfisher wrapped up its 2026 golf season Tuesday on the banks of Grand Lake.

The Yellowjackets finished in 11th place at the Class 3A state tournament, which was held this year at Coves Golf Club near Afton.

KHS shot a 1,026 over 54 holes, which included a 36-hole marathon on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday.

Chisholm won the state title with a 926, well ahead of state runner-up Rejoice Christian’s 962.

A pair of seniors led Kingfisher in their final rounds.

Luciano Orozco finished tied for 28th with his 246. He opened with an 86 on the par-72 course in Monday’s opening round, but closed the day with a 77.

He came back Tuesday with an 83.

Cale Reagan was two strokes back of Orozco with his 248. That tied him for 34th.

Reagan had matching rounds of 81 on Monday and an 86 on Tuesday.

Freshman River Roof ended with a 264 and was the model of consistency. He shot an 88 each round.

Fellow freshman Hagen Owens had rounds of 92, 86 and 91 for his 269.

Hayes White, a senior, finished with a 278 as he shot 91, 92 and 95.
