The Harding Fine Arts boys basketball team is much improved over recent years.But it still has a long way to go to catch up with Okarche.The Warriors used dominant first and third quarters Tuesday to down the Firehawks 76-32 on homecoming night.

Lomega picked up its first “easy” win of the season on Tuesday.The Lady Raiders won their third straight game with an 87-17 home win over Calumet.The team’s previous two victories were by 11 points at Drummond and by two points over Okarche.Calumet never posed a threat to keep it close.

Kingfisher High School senior Raylee Snodgrass signed recently to continue her cheering career. Snodgrass, seated center on the right, will cheer for Friends University in Kansas. Snodgrass signed during a ceremony held Nov. 9 at the KHS commons.

Dover downs Aline-Cleo

Dover had no problems remaining undefeated Tuesday as it played the final game before Thanksgiving break. Five Lady Longhorns scored as many or more points than the opponent in a 92-10 victory over Aline-Cleo on homecoming night.Prior to the game, Karlee Harviston was named homecoming queen.

It’s the time of year deer hunters in Oklahoma have been anxiously awaiting.Cooler temperatures have arrived and deer have become frisky.Deer gun season opens Saturday, Nov. 18, and runs through Sunday, Dec. 3, according to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.

Sulphur overwhelms Jackets, 42-7

Kingfisher was going to need a near-perfect game for its season to continue.It didn’t happen. Sulphur’s defense proved too stingy and its offense opportunistic last Friday as the Bulldogs beat KHS 42-7 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
