Tanner Black was hired as a high school teacher and the head baseball coach during a special meeting of the Hennessey Board of Education last Wednesday.He was hired on a temporary contract in a 4-0 vote after a 25-minute executive session to discuss the employment.

One of the biggest initiatives of the Elks is its Drug Awareness Program (DAP). The largest volunteer program of its kind in the United States, it strives to teach children and parents about the dangers of illegal drug use and prevent the abuse of legalized and prescription drugs.

Locally heavy mid-week rains likely pushed back the start of wheat harvest season for a few more days.While the official Kingfisher report showed .74 inch Thursday at the Mesonet site on the Mueggenborg farm and a total of 1.

Kingfisher, Hennessey, Loyal, Okarche and Kingfisher County all had gains in their May sales tax checks compared to May 2024, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
