For some reason, Clinton just had Kingfisher’s number on the softball diamond this season.The Lady Reds completed their district sweep of KHS on Tuesday by winning 3-2 with a walkoff run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

County baseball, softball teams get set for playoffs

Regular seasons are winding down for the small-school softball and baseball teams this fall, meaning the playoffs are near.The OSSAA recently released the district assignments for Classes A and B in those two sports and they’ll begin this week.

Streaking Lady Jackets salvage win at Bethany

One word to describe the Kingfisher High School softball season of late?Streaky. The Lady Jackets last Saturday put an end to a four-game losing streak by defeating the OKC Broncos 10-0 during the Bethany Tournament.

Improving Hennessey hangs tough at Hinton

The progress is showing.Time will tell if the wins follow suit.Hennessey did drop to 0-3 on the season last Friday as it was defeated 27-21 at Hinton in the Eagles’ final non-district game.“I was very proud of the way our kids fought,” said head coach Mark Cox.

The events of Friday night were still crawling all over Jeff Myers on Monday morning.The Kingfisher Yellowjackets last week dropped their second game in a row to start this 2023 season when they brought home a 37-17 defeat at the hands of Weatherford.
