Read moreKingfisher got closer to full strength last Saturday morning and earned a championship in the process. The Lady Jackets won the high school girls team title at the Watonga Cross Country Invitational. Led by Chesni Newkirk, Kingfisher amassed only 44 points to run well past the competition. Newkirk was 12th out of 174 runners. Due to some runners not being affiliated with teams, Newkirk’s finish was sixth for team scoring purposes.
