FINAL SPRINT

Republican candidates for state office, including corporation commissioner, treasurer, superintendent of public instruction and State Senate District 26 participated in one of the last public forums in the run up to the June 28 primary election. The event was organized and hosted by Kingfisher County Republican Women and included a meetand-greet in the Kingfisher Heritage School gym, below, where voters could talk oneon-one with candidates. Participants and attendees then moved into the auditorium, where candidates for each race had an opportunity to respond to questions posed by moderator Mike Sanders, former state house majority leader and longtime District 59 representative. At top right, State Sen. Darcy Jech, District 26 incumbent, and challengers Brady Butler and J.J. Stitt, from left, take the stage with Sanders, far right. KCRW President Toni Pickle (bottom right, with Sanders) presided over the event, while Kevin Hopkins offered the invocation, recent KHS graduate Ethan Willimon performed the national anthem and Rystan Jerkins led the flag salute.
