Kingfisher took part in the Elgin Tennis Tournament at the OKC Tennis Center on Thursday. In girls’ No. 1 singles, Mia Franco (top left) took third place. In her first foray in singles, Kadyn Daugherty (top center) was the No. 2 singles runner-up. The No. 1 doubles team of Sydney Burk and Emiley Watkins (right) was the consolation champion. And for the boys, Hayes White (top right) was the No. 1 singles runner-up. [Photos provided]

Cashion’s Taylor tabbed to coach Small West girls

The basketball games at the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Games later this year will have a strong Cashion flavor on the sidelines. Not only will the Small West boys be coached by Cashion’s John Hardaway, but the Small West girls will be coached by Andrea Taylor (pictured right). Taylor coached the Lady Wildcats to a 20-11 record. They reached the Class 2A area consolation championship game where they were defeated 47-44 by No. 2 Pocola. The All-State games are played in late July in Tulsa.
