• YOUTH GROUP FOOD DRIVE: The Sts. Peter & Paul youth group will be conducting its annual food collection drive to benefit the Kingfisher County Food Bank. Youth group members will be walking doorto- door in Kingfisher and collecting donated non-perishable food items from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. TEMPORARY PROBLEM – Much-needed (and much-forecasted) rains found their way to Kingfi sher County on Friday morning. The expected weather event prompted two county schools to play their Week 8 football games on Thursday (see Page 2). When the fi rst round of projected rain hit Friday morning, more than 2 inches fell in less than two hours, causing some fl ash fl ooding on U.S. Highway 81/Main Street on the city’s north end.
