‘Let’s Go Jack-ets!’

Elementary students packed the APB Thursday morning to cheer on the Kingfisher High School girls and boys basketball teams in the opening round of the Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational. Students are pictured above cheering for the Lady Jackets during their 52-13 win over Harrah JV. While most students had to leave during the boys game later in the morning, one class did get to stick around to watch their favorite Yellowjacket. Senior Jax Sternberger is pictured right greeting Kara Brueggen’s kindergarten class after the Jackets beat Harrah 71-39. Sternberger is a student aide for Brueggen this year. “We are so lucky to have him. The kids think the world of Jax,” Brueggen said. “They love that he takes the time out of his day to come and see them everyday.” Brueggen also relayed quotes from some of her students: “Mr. Jax is awesome!” “We love him and he loves us.” “He comes to help us.” “We love that he plays with us and helps us learn.” [KT&FP Staff Photos]
