Things were different in the 1950s

Since I grew up in the era of bobby socks and penny loafers I’m amazed at $100 tennis shoes with more rubber on them than tires. We wore Keds as kids, but in junior high we only wore tennis shoes in gym class, or if we went to the zoo, or on a hike at church camp.
