CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Kingfisher City Commission seated its newest commissioner Tuesday when Geoff Covalt (at left in the left photo and at far right) was sworn in to replace commissioner Richard Ray Reynolds. City Attorney Jared Harrison administers the oath of office to Covalt in the left photo. Mayor Roxie Alexander presented a plaque recognizing Reynolds’ service to the commission. Reynolds was appointed to complete Alexander’s term of office after she was elected mayor in 2020. Reynolds lost a re-election bid last April to Covalt and Farrar, and then Covalt emerged the winner of a runoff election last month. “It’s been an honor and a learning experience to serve,” Reynolds said.
