CHECKING UNDER THE HOOD

Vehicle enthusiasts of all types - even species - showed up in droves Saturday morning for the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce’s Kool Cars and Chrome show, which was staged behind Interbank. The car show was held in conjunction with Crazy Days sales by Kingfisher merchants and restaurants. “We were thrilled to see huge crowds in Kingfisher for the event,” Chamber Executive Director Shauna Rupp said. “One of the reasons to move the car show to August was to be able to draw crowds in town for tax-free weekend and shopping locally.” Rupp said the chamber fell short of its goal of 100 entries into the car show, but was still pleased with its excellent turnout and being able to provide a family-fun event. “It continues to grow with even more community opportunities like the wide variety of food options, the Farmers Market and other community leaders piggybacking on our event with their own, combining for a grand weekend in Kingfisher,” Rupp said.
