Purintun among state’s top trainers

Kingfisher High School senior Sydney Purintun has been honored for her work as an athletic trainer for the school’s athletes. Purintun was recently named an All- State alternate for the western half of the state by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Trainers. The selection process included an application as well as letters of recommendation from a head coach (Jeff Myers), administrator and a certified trainer. Purintun also had to submit videos of herself taping an ankle and a wrist/hand/thumb and wrapping an ice pack on a shoulder. A committee of athletic trainers took part in the selection process. Chisholm Trail Technology Center’s Alec Schilde took third place April 25 in the state SkillsUSA competition for automotive service technology. Schilde, a Dover student, faced 21 other contestants from over 50 campuses in the secondary (high school) division who placed third or higher in their own district competitions.
