October is designated as National Co-op Month – a chance to celebrate more than 30,000 cooperatives nationwide. Co-ops account for more than 2 million jobs, boast about 350 million memberships, and generate more than $660 billion in annual revenue. In addition to agricultural co-ops, Kingfisher County also is home to Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, now among the largest in the U.S., and Cimarron Electric Cooperative, the state’s first rural electric cooperative.
