The Asphalt Shakers were the top team in the first week of Kingfisher Community Collaborative’s 2022 Walk-tober walking challenge. These three competitors, from left Erin Mayfield, Linda Murphey and Nayeli Gutierrez, walked an average of more than 25,000 steps a day each to win the first week’s prizes. In addition to weekly honors, a traveling trophy will be presented to the team with the highest stepping average for the entire month. The challenge includes solo walkers as well as teams of up to five participants. All told, close to 100 people are competing in this year’s walking challenge, designed to promote healthy living and active lifestyles.
