All About Empow-her-ment

Nearly 70 local women participated in the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce’s first-ever Women in Biz Luncheon Thursday at the Scissortail Event Center. Chamber Executive Director Shauna Rupp, far left, hosted the event and recognized young entrepreneurial women Maci Eminger and Alyssa Smalley, second and third from left, both graduates of county high schools. The two women spoke briefly about their experiences after high school and shared motivational ideas. Keynote speaker was Marla Hill, far right, local entrepreneur and owner of five companies, along with her husband Brian Hill. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee and served as co-chair of Governor Kevin Stitt’s first inaugural prayer service and also serves annually at the Governor’s prayer breakfast. Hill spoke of God’s influence in her personal life and businesses and learning to listen to and follow his word. Rupp said she was pleased and excited by the positive response to the event and said that it will be repeated at least annually. Women entrepreneurs and business owners and operators in attendance ranged in age from 13 to 75, she said. [KT&FP Staff Photo]
