Methodist church invites all to new playground

Hennessey’s First United Methodist Church will celebrate its completed playground at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26, with free hot dogs and chips for all. The church is located on East First and Cherokee streets and the playground is across the street west of there. Parking is available in front of the church on Cherokee Street and between the new playground and the church’s white pantry building. The only parking allowed on East Second Street is in the marked post office parking. The playground is west of the church’s volleyball court that was constructed last year. At the church’s request, the town earlier placed a stop sign on Second Street to slow down traffic. Pictured above on Sunday’s windy afternoon are children playing while their parents sat on a nearby bench to visit and watch them. [KT&FP Staff Photo by Barb Walter]
