Finding her calling

Kennedy Winter of the Kingfisher branch of Wilson Funeral Home was the guest speaker last Thursday at Kingfisher Lions Club. A Clinton native, Winter is the managing funeral director at the local branch located at 1612 S. Main St. She told Lions that she knew at an early age that she wanted to pursue her current career and even graduated both high school and college a year early to begin her path. Her career started in Enid, but after marrying Lane Winter, moved to Kingfisher. She worked with Marcus Crawford, who owns Wilson Funeral Home in El Reno, to start the Kingfisher location in the summer of 2019. Winter, center, is pictured with Ellen Wilfong, sho serves as the office administrator here. Harold Drake and Darrell Daugherty also help work services locally. “The people who work for us have a servant heart for people, which I believe makes all the difference in the world,” Winter said.
