KINGFISHER LIONS CLUB members were joined last Thursday by Oklahoma Northwest District Governor Sharyl Pickens. A member of the Perkins Lions Club, Pickens is currently in the midst of visiting all 39 clubs in her district. Pickens’ service project for the year is “No One Should Go Hungry.” As part of that, she plans to partner with Meals of Hope and, during the district meeting at Stillwater next February, package 10,000 meals. During the meeting, the Kingfisher Lions voted to donate $150 toward the project, which will help fund more than 330 of the meals. Instead of printing Friday, it will go to press Wednesday afternoon (quite possibly as you’re reading this). That moved our legal and advertising deadlines for the weekend paper up to Tuesday afternoon. County subscribers should receive the edition on the normal delivery schedule as it will be delivered to local Post Offices on Friday. For breaking news, please visit our Facebook page.
