Campers were taught the basics of the game with drills and instruction from Chris Combs, Kingfisher High School boys golf coach, and Gary Wilson, club pro and manager at Kingfisher Golf Course, as well as several high school golfers. Read moreKingfisher Chamber of Commerce Director Shauna Rupp (not pictured) discussed upcoming chamber events with Kingfisher Lions Club members on Thursday. Chief among them was the events taking place in town on July 4. That includes the downtown parade at 10 a.m. and then events at Kingfisher Park beginning at noon and ending with the fireworks show at dark. The park events include the annual turtle races, which are hosted by the Lions Club, beginning at 4 p.m. Rupp also discussed the benefits of civic groups joining the Chamber of Commerce membership. Afterward, Lions Club members voted for the civic club to become a chamber member.
