‘Mouse’ problems
I’m sitting on a pillow at my kitchen table so I can write this on my laptop. That’s because the mouse isn’t working on my big computer. Make that mice aren’t working since I’ve tried two without any success.
I hadn’t touched my work computer for at least four days. It could just be one of those mice will need new batteries, but one is definitely charged.
Stuff like this only happens to me when I wait until the last-minute to write a column, and I do admit to a Sunday afternoon nap that was longer than usual.
However, I am breathing and am grateful for that, and for family and friends who came at different times for Christmas.
It sometimes seems we tell the same stories over, and over again, but I love hearing, or telling, them.
Now as I look around the kitchen and living room I’m not anxious to take down the YaYa tree, or the small Clemy tree. I am glad I didn’t put up the big tree this year, and I’m in no hurry to get all the other decorations down.
However, the last bunch of kids were here on Saturday, and I noticed that someone folded all the stockings, and put them on the hearth.
However, Tuxedo-thegirl cat’s stocking is still up, and I don’t think she realized I’d forgotten to get a couple of new treats for her.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, and I enjoy seeing many of the decorations that we’ve accumulated over the years.
Almost all of them will stay up for a few weeks because they give me “a case of the feel-goods,” as my husband used to say.
Or, maybe they will still be up on Valentine’s Day. I’m never in a hurry to put them away.
I believe the latest we’ve ever left them up was Mother’s Day.
Having Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus on a shelf where I can see them every day is comforting.
And, I’m grateful that my mouse problem isn’t because of a real one.
