Majetic to be county treasurer

Kingfisher County Commissioners accepted the recommendation of County Treasurer Robin Rother and named Chief Deputy Kelly Majetic to succeed her effective July 1.

KHS seniors haul in $3.7 million in scholarship offers

Kingfisher High School’s senior class was offered more than $3.7 million in scholarships and awards this year.KHS graduated 91 seniors at a ceremony on May 16.Prior to that, a senior awards ceremony was held in which scholarships and other awards were announced.

Sale of Confiscated Liquor To Aid County Schools

Sheriff Clyde Sapp is pictured above with 260 gallons of confiscated liquor, which will be sold soon at auction to an out-of-state buyer, and the money turned to the county schools. The liquor was recently brought here from Oklahoma City. ATU agents had seized it near Kingfisher in December, 1949.

Victim of Shot Recovering

Murray Gehringer, 53, Kingfisher service station operator who was shot in Kingfisher City Park on Friday, June 11, is said to be improving in an Enid hospital and has been taken out of intensive care.
