2025: An interesting year

The 2025 year has been interesting as well as an exasperating year for common-sense Americans.

President Donald Trump has managed to implement many necessary changes despite constant and vicious attacks from the Democrat deep state with the aid of its attack dog – the mainstream national media.

Appropriately, said national media has lost its reputation as a reputable news source, except for the thoroughly indoctrinated left-wing zombies, who know little and don’t care.

National columnist Stephen Moore writes on Townhall. com: “I’ve been shocked that Americans are in such a grumpy mood...

“What a paradox: At the same time, we have peace and prosperity, including more income, more wealth, more of almost everything that we want to buy (yes, except for housing), Americans seem to think we have an “affordability crisis.” In 2025, the median household income in the United States has risen to more than $86,000 a year – an all-time high.

After commenting on the change in Washington that has brought the changes about – Trump’s presidency – he cites other positive changes: Median family income after inflation has risen by $1,250.

Incomes of the bottom 25 percent have risen after inflation. This is not a “rich getting richer, poor getting poorer story.” It’s a “rising tide that lifts all boats” story.

The wealth of the average family in their 401(k) plans is UP by an average of $21,000 – reversing a more than $20,000 real decline under Joe Biden.

As many as 1 million additional families will have access to higher-performing schools thanks to Trump’s education savings accounts.

No tax on tips and overtime starts on Jan. 1, 2026, for millions of American workers.

The federal budget deficit – a clear and present danger – was down by roughly 2.5 percent in 2025 and is already down by another $170 billion in the first two months of fiscal year 2026, despite the Trump tax cuts.

Our servicemen and servicewomen received a well-deserved $1,776 end-of-year bonus.

Obviously President Trump does care about everyday citizens.

Meanwhile, the leftist pseudo-leaders of the once reputable Democrat party have announced a new round of “No Kings” rumbles in 2026, (not real citizen efforts) paid for by billionaires, desperate to turn the United States into another Third World wasteland they can control to gain access of its resources to increase their wealth.

Trump’s efforts have reduced crime markedly so that residents don’t have to be afraid to walk down the streets of their neighborhoods.

Moore reports these changes: Through the first half of the year (according to the latest numbers available), crime in cities is way down. Gun assaults were down 21 percent, aggravated assaults were down 10 percent, sexual assaults were down 10 percent, and carjackings were down 24 percent compared to levels under Biden.

Illegal immigration is down 92 percent from the peak levels of entry under Biden.

The United States is producing more oil and gas than at any other time in American history.

Gas prices, which approached $5 a gallon under Biden, are down to $2.89 a gallon today.

The swamp in Washington is being drained: Federal employment is down by nearly 300,000.

A record 400-plus intrusive regulations have been eliminated, including repealing racial quotas in hiring, reversing Biden rules mandating that Americans buy electric vehicles, allowing more drilling for oil and gas and ending extremely expensive student loan “forgiveness” program has been canceled.

The stock market reached all-time highs on all three major indices: the S&P 500, the Nasdaq and the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

The president is working hard (he must not sleep much) to fix other serious problems such as healthcare and students’ declining test scores.

Victor Davis Hanson, historian, columnist and farmer in California, recently painted a dark picture of America’s descent into chaos recently just hours after an Afghan national shot two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C.

Hanson, a Daily Signal senior contributor and Hoover Institution senior fellow, told guest host Kellyanne Conway that left-wing leaders have systematically undermined law enforcement and constitutional order.

The renowned historian pointed to a disturbing pattern during Donald Trump’s presidency, starting when “retired generals came out and said, he should be removed, the sooner the better.” Hanson cited the chairman of the joint chiefs’ contacting his Chinese People’s Liberation Army counterpart. And he noted, most recently, the six Democrat lawmakers who told members of the U.S. military “you can decide … what’s legal and not legal, and act accordingly to your own wishes.”

“A recipe for disaster,” Hanson warned. “A kind of a perfect storm.”

Hanson, as quoted by The Daly Signal, connected this insubordination to current immigration enforcement battles. “We had Gov. [JB] Pritzker, Gov. [Gavin] Newsom, Nancy Pelosi … all saying that state and local law enforcement would confront ICE, and that was anti-constitutional,” he explained.

The result? Hanson said that criminals believe “nothing is going to happen to me.”

In the wake of Wednesday’s shooting of two National Guardsmen in the nation’s capital, Hanson said this breakdown of societal norms has created “a recipe for an ungodly tragedy.”

When asked why Democrats coddle criminals while vilifying law enforcement, Hanson offered a stark assessment: “I don’t think they have a message or an agenda that people favor, so they have to cause total chaos.” He suggested Democrats believe voters will “get into a fetal position and say make it all go away.”

Hanson argued that Democrats can’t win on the issues “so they have to create chaos, the violence, the Tesla dealerships are burned, the smutty videos” to generate systemic disruption. He compared it to 2020’s COVID lockdowns, which he said Democrats weaponized against Trump’s “really brilliant first term.”

Hanson warned this violence and chaos “is going to keep happening, unfortunately,” as millions of illegal immigrants and prematurely released criminals roam free in American communities.
