Hennessey may seek ambulance service
Hennessey may be in line to seek an ambulance service it was announced at Monday’s Kingfisher County Commissioners meeting.
County Clerk Emily Lee announced preliminary work has started to file for a 522 Ambulance Service for Hennessey School District.
A 522 District is named after State Question 522 which was approved in 1976 to allow the formation of Emergency Medical Services.
Commissioners approved a declaration of surplus by the Big Four Fire Department of a 1987 Pierce Fire Engine, clearing it to be sold at auction.
Commissioners authorized Rail Road Yard Services to proceed with construction on Bridge CN 233 in District 1. It is located on North 2816 Road north of EW 840 Road. RRY submitted the low bid of $768,500 on the bridge project at an earlier meeting.
A crossing permit for a three-inch poly line, requested by Select Water, LLC, on a District 3 road one mile west and three miles north of Okarche received approval.
District 2 Commissioner Michael Sparks, the newest commission member, chaired the meeting, his first as chairman of the BOCC. He was elected chairman at last week’s meeting as commissioners continued their annual rotation of the post.
All commissioners were present – Sparks; Anthony Schwarz, District 3, vice-chairman, and Jeff Moss, District 1 – along with Lee as official minute clerk; County Engineer Nik Smith, Sheriff Aaron Pitts, county Emergency Management Director Randy Poindexter, Ron Townsend of Ranger Ron Construction and Kingfisher citizen visitor Kelly Buck.
