KCEM command center bids opened
County courthouse to close this Friday, possibly next Monday
Kingfisher County commissioners opened six bids on an emergency management command center, ranging from $232,179.99 to $377,706, and voted to close the courthouse Friday and possibly Monday due to completion of the work to upgrade electrical service to the courthouse.
Commissioners tabled action on the Emergency Management Command Center until next week’s meeting to allow Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage to inspect them and determine the lowest and best bid.
Regarding the courthouse electrical system upgrade, commissioners scheduled next week’s meeting to be held on Tuesday rather than the usual Monday schedule.
Commission Chairman Anthony Schwarz explained that the contractor would definitely be working on the project Friday and likely Saturday and Sunday and possibly on Monday.
In order to allow County Clerk Emily Lee to post the required legal notice of the meeting without undue confusion, commissioners voted to schedule its next meeting for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12.
