• Kingfisher County Free Fair begins Wednesday and runs through Saturday. It will include livestock, crops, baking, canning, photography, art, crafts and more at the Exhibit Building and MACenter. For a full list of events, see the story in our Aug. 17, edition.
• Grief Share resumed at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, and will meet weekly through November. This free service is held at First Baptist Church in Kingfisher and is designed to offer help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. • 4-H STEAK SANDWICHES: Kingfisher County 4-H is hosting its annual fundraiser during this year’s county free fair. Sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Exhibit Building at the fairgrounds. Cost is $12. Pre-orders only. To learn how to pre-order, see the ad in this edition.
• GARDEN TRACTOR PULL: This event makes its return to the Kingfisher County Free Fair. It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the Roundup Club Rodeo Arena. For more information, see the ad in this edition.
• KHS JUNIOR CLASS GOLF SCRAMBLE: Benefits from this four-person scramble go toward the KHS Junior-Senior Prom. The scramble is Sunday, Aug. 24. A hole sponsorship is $75. Contact Melissa Hardison (580-799-4272) or Tracy Stephenson (580-216-5634) for more information.
• SUMMER SOUNDS CONCERT SERIES: Presented by The Chisholm, this is a free series of concerts throughout the summer at Horizon Hill in Kingfisher. The next event is Thursday, Aug. 21, and features Travis Kidd. Music is 7 to 8:30 p.m. Come early and eat at the on-site food truck. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
