• MEET THE CANDIDATE: Kingfisher County Republican Women is continuing its series of hosting candidates for the next gubernatorial election. Jake Merrick will make a presentation at the group’s next meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at the Kingfisher County Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan in Kingfisher. Merrick is a former state senator and is currently a radio host. The public is invited to attend and there will be a Q&A after his presentation. • 4-H STEAK SANDWICHES: Kingfisher County 4-H is hosting its annual fundraiser during this year’s county free fair. Sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Exhibit Building at the fairgrounds. • KHS JUNIOR CLASS GOLF SCRAMBLE: Benefits from this four-person scramble go toward the KHS Junior-Senior Prom.
