‘Little Longhorn Library’ ready for Dover readers
If Dover School students are wanting to read this summer, they’ll have plenty of options.
School staff have placed “Little Longhorn Libraries” at two locations in town.
One is at the Dover Baptist Church and the other at the school bus barn (located west of the baseball field).
“Children can take a book, leave a book or both,” elementary principal Trilla Cranford said.
“And if you have books you no longer need and would like to add them to one of our libraries, that would be wonderful.”
The books are in mini refrigerators that have been painted red, have the Longhorn decal and “Little Longhorn Library” stenciled on them.
The refrigerators were donated by John and Karla Ludwig and Jim and Joan Schilde. Janice Andrews provided the decals and Jim Murphy and Craig Patterson got them to their destinations full of books.
“We are thankful to have all their help,” Cranford said.
Additionally, the school library will be open twice a week.
It will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and from 5-7 p.m. each Thursday throughout the summer.
