$10.2 million paid so far in property taxes
Kingfisher County property owners had paid $10,167,540.09 in ad valor-em tax by Monday, County Treasurer Robin Rother announced.
That is 27.129 percent of the total abstract of $37,422,815 certified for collection.
Rother said the deadline to pay 2019 ad valorem tax without penalty had been extended to Jan 10.
After that date, unpaid tax will be subject to a 1.5 percent per month penalty under state law.
However, property owners who elect to do so may pay one-half their total tax bill by Jan. 10 and delay payment of the second half to March 31 without penalty.
