2 local women earn licenses from LTCA

By

Two area residents received licenses last week from the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Long Term Care Administrators.

Kaci Farrar of Kingfisher was licensed last week as a nursing home administrator and Mary Beth Harris was licensed as a certified assistant administrator.

To earn her administrator’s license, Farrar completed six months of classroom instruction and 560 hours of clinical training at Cimarron Nursing Center and First Shamrock Care Facility in Kingfisher.

Farrar worked under the mentorship of Diane Themer of Dover, administrator for both Kingfisher facilities, who served as her certified preceptor.

Farrar, who holds two master’s degrees in business administration and healthcare management, also passed rigorous state and national examinations before being approved for licensure by the state board last week.

She and her husband Tanner, owner and flight instructor at Top Flight Aviation LLC, have one son, Maddox, 1.

Mary Beth Harris of Dover was licensed as a certified assistant administrator.

She is a licensed practical nurse working on a registered nurse degree at OSU-OKC.

Harris currently serves as assistant administrator and assistant director of nursing at Cimarron Nursing Home.

Harris has two children, Eldon and Brooklyn.
