3 Hennessey employees resign Monday
Two Hennessey Public Library and one public works department employee handed in their letters of resignation Monday, April 18, said Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman.
Lyndsey Kopsa
Library Director Lyndsey Kopsa’s letter was dated April 18, but her last day of employment will not be until July 15.
Kopsa said she would help with the search and transition for a new director.
She has accepted a position with the Frank Carlson Library in her hometown of Concordia, Kan., where she will be closer to her parents and family.
Kopsa, who lives in Enid, was hired by the town as a circulation librarian in January 2019, and named director in May 2020 to replace Ruth Ann Replogle.
Replogle was hired in September 2018 to succeed Mary Haney, who retired after 20 years as director.
Jennifer Valles
Children’s Librarian Jennifer (Moreno) Valles gave her twoweek notice in an April 18 resignation letter.
She was hired for that job in February 2019 and came from Lake County, Colo., where she volunteered at her local library and coordinated children’s programs while in high school.
Valles wrote in her resignation that she plans to pursue “a new career opportunity.”
Mike Jones
Mike Jones gave no reason for his resignation from the public works department effective April 18.
His email to Tillman arrived at 3:50 p.m. Monday.
He was hired as a full-time Hennessey police officer in September 2018, then promoted from police sergeant to lieutenant in June 2019.
He was reassigned to the public works department in January 2020, and has worked there since that time.
