33rd Life Chain event set next month in Hennessey
A local group will be hosting an annual pro-life event early next month in Hennessey.
Life Chain will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the corner of U.S. Highway 81 and State Highway 51.
This is the 33rd year for Life Chain. The local event will coincide with similar ones taking place across the U.S. and Canada at the same time.
Locally, the rally is sponsored by the Pro-life Committee of Hennessey and Dover.
“Life Chain is a peaceful time of prayer for the sanctity of all human life,” said Valerie Wissman, a coordinator for the event.
“It’s our hope that people of the Kingfisher area will take advantage of this opportunity to participate. Those who have attended have been truly blessed.”
The event will last one hour.
Wissman added that signs will be available for participants and those unable to stand for the hour are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
She added that participants will be distanced from one another.
