63rd rodeo slated Friday, Saturday
The 63rd annual Kingfisher Roundup Club Rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday at the rodeo grounds at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds in Kingfisher.
A pre-show will begin at 7:45 p.m.with the rodeo starting at 8 p.m. each evening. Advance tickets are available at $6 from any queen or princess contestant.
Since it is an outdoor event, social distancing is not required.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $8 with tickets free for those 8 and under.
Royalty will be crowned at the Saturday night rodeo.
Lacey Bailey, Roundup Club secretary, said that books will be open for timed events such as calf roping and barrel races each night of the rodeo while pre-registration is required for rough stock events, such as bronc and bull riding, so that the stock contractor, Rafter D, will know how many horses and bulls to bring.
Books open 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
Events include: bareback bronc, saddle bronc and ranch bronc riding, bull riding, tiedown roping, double mugging, breakaway roping, team roping, ribbon roping and junior and senior barrels.
Concession stands will be open on the grounds.
